The model shows an attack on a village by the Vikings. The Viking has seized a villager by the collar and is beating him with his sword. He is driven by a crank slider. In the background flames are blazing up which are moved by a second crank.

Newstead's model  is part of a children's book about the vikings. The book includes 16 pages with text and 4 pages with instructions. The construction sheets are stitched in the middle of the book
