Watermill Barrien

scale 1 : 100
sand powered

This watermill was build in the 13th century in the town Syke - Barrien, South of Bremen in Northern Germany. Now it is classified as a historical monument. In the inside you will find a complete pair of millstones. When the water wheel turns it produces electricity without any pollution for the café and the inhabitants of the mill.

The paper model is powered by sand. When you put fine sand in the container in the roof it will trickle on a driving wheel inside the mill. It turns the water wheel which is fixed on the same shaft.
